OWI Suspect Crashes Into House - Village of Knapp
On Friday, December 2, 2016 the Dunn County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a truck that crashed into a house in the 600 block of USH 12 in the Village of Knapp with unknown injuries.
The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, and Menomonie Fire, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, Deputies found a Chevrolet truck was headed eastbound on USH 12 and left the road way near Queen St. The vehicle then struck a stop sign, a street light pole, and several mailboxes as it drove over several yards before striking a tree. The vehicle finally came to rest after impacting a residence and causing substantial damage. When Deputies arrived the vehicle was unoccupied. The lone occupant was found a short distance away hiding in the bushes. She admitted t driving the vehicle and being the lone occupant. She did not report any injures.
Field sobriety tests were administered and she was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicant 1st offense.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.
