EQUIPPED TO SERVE
THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO DO THE JOB.
Dunn County Sheriff’s Office deputies are provided modern equipment and technology designed to help them work safely, effectively, and independently throughout the county.
Deputies are issued the equipment necessary for patrol operations, including a take-home squad, body-worn and in-car camera systems, department-issued smartphone, portable radio, patrol rifle, Taser, medical and emergency equipment, traffic enforcement equipment, and other tools needed for daily operations.
Our patrol vehicles serve as mobile offices, giving deputies access to computer-aided dispatch, records systems, mapping, communications, and other law enforcement resources directly from the field.
TAKE-HOME SQUADS
Eligible deputies are assigned a take-home patrol vehicle, allowing them to begin and end their shifts from home while remaining equipped to respond when needed.

YOUR TRAINING DOESN’T END WHEN FIELD TRAINING DOES.
At the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, we believe capable deputies are built through experience, quality training, and continued professional development.
New deputies receive field training designed to prepare them for independent patrol responsibilities. From there, we continue investing in our personnel through advanced and specialized training opportunities throughout their careers. During the first several years of employment, deputies may receive additional training in areas such as criminal investigations, impaired driving enforcement, drug interdiction, crisis response, emergency vehicle operations, firearms, defensive tactics, interview and interrogation, crash investigation, and other specialized law enforcement disciplines. As deputies gain experience, additional opportunities may become available to develop specialized skills, become instructors, serve as field training officers, participate on specialty teams, or pursue leadership roles within the agency.
