School Threat - Village of Elk Mound

On Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at approximately 4:30 PM the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of a threat that was made to the Elk Mound Middle School. Dunn County Deputies responded to the Middle School for further follow up on the matter.

Through a subsequent investigation it was learned that there was a verbal and physical altercation on a bus returning to the Elk Mound Middle School from a field trip. This altercation carried over into the school when they returned. A 13-year-old student involved made a threat regarding the possibility of a shooting that could occur at the school on Friday.

Update:

The juvenile suspect in this case is being charged with making terroristic threats, battery and disorderly conduct. He will make a court appearance today on these charges.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office takes a zero tolerance stance on threats of school violence and will continue to have extra patrol units in and around the school to reassure students and parents that they are in a safe environment.
