The Dunn County Sheriff's Office is concerned about keeping the community informed about the operations of the Sheriff's Office. One of the ways we accomplish this is by regularly keeping the news media, and therefore the public, informed of the events involving the Sheriff's Office and its personnel.

Press releases are generated by field supervisors and contain factual information about an event. Press releases are approved by command staff and then distributed to local news media as soon as possible.

Multi-County Burglary & Theft Investigations

 

During the past 8 days Dunn County Sheriff's Office deputies have been working together with officers from the Chippewa, Pierce and Pepin County Sheriff's Offices, and the Durand Police Department. They have been investigating a large number of burglaries and thefts that occurred during the past month in those counties as well as Buffalo County.

Several cases involved firearms and a large amount of scrap metal, power tools, hand tools, electrical meters, gauges and spools of wire being taken. These items were taken from businesses and a couple of private residences.

As of today, five adults have been arrested and one more will be referred to the District Attorney's Office for charges. These cases are still under investigation and additional arrests are expected.

Anyone with information about this type of activity or other crimes are urged to call your local Sheriff's Office or Police Department.
