The Dunn County Sheriff's Office is concerned about keeping the community informed about the operations of the Sheriff's Office. One of the ways we accomplish this is by regularly keeping the news media, and therefore the public, informed of the events involving the Sheriff's Office and its personnel.

Press releases are generated by field supervisors and contain factual information about an event. Press releases are approved by command staff and then distributed to local news media as soon as possible.

Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash

 

On May 2, 2012 at 8:25 PM the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a car in the village of Ridgeland on Sheridan Street near Elliot Street.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Office, Ridgeland Fire Department, and Dallas Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

The initial investigation determined that Casey D. Thompson, male, age 23 of Ridgeland, was walking with a friend, eastbound on Sheridan Street along the south shoulder and was struck by a car traveling eastbound on Sheridan Street driven by Clarence J. Bever IV, age 27, from Ridgeland.

Thompson was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN by Lifelink Helicopter due to injuries sustained.

No one else was injured and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office.
