Michael Tietz



Captain of Field Services

Mike was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI and graduated from Memorial High School. He immediately entered the military and served as a military police investigator. While in the military, Mike attended college at UW La Crosse. After leaving the military, he joined the Dunn County Sheriff's Reserves in 1977 and attended UW Eau Claire. In 1977 he also began working part time for the Elk Mound Police Department. In 1986, he left the police department as the Chief of Police. In January of 1981, he joined the Dunn County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff. Up until 1996, Mike worked as a deputy sheriff and was assigned to investigations and patrol. In 1996, he was promoted to Sergeant and in 2006 he was promoted to Lieutenant. In 2008, the position was re-titled to Captain of Field Services after reorganization.

Mike holds an associate's degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College and bachelor's from Concordia College. He is a Wisconsin certified teacher, as well a Department of Justice certified instructor in multiple areas.




                    Barbara Reid
Jail Administrator

Barb is from Elmwood, WI, and graduated from Elmwood High School in 1977. Barb attended UW Stout and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor's of Science degree. In 1982, she also became a certified EMT.

In 1983, Barb began working in law enforcement as a dispatcher in Waukesha County. In 1984, she began working for the St. Croix County 911 Center. During her eight years there, she filled in at the St. Croix County Jail and became interested in corrections. In 1992, she became a member of the Washington County, MN Sheriff's Office as a correctional officer. She went on to work as a jail sergeant and later as the juvenile detention administrator. In July of 2003, she joined the Dunn County Sheriff's Office as our Jail Administrator.
